Take the booking without putting the clippers down

The phone rings mid-fade. Agree a time, tap the mic and say it once, and Slotty books the client, keeps a note of how they like it and sends them a reminder the day before.

Sound familiar?

  • The phone rings mid-cut

You take the call on speaker and agree Saturday at eleven — with no hand free to write it down. By closing time, was it eleven or twelve?

  • “The usual” — but which one?

A regular sits down and says “the usual”. Was it a two on the sides or a one and a half? A square neckline or a rounded one? With dozens of regulars, you start guessing.

  • An empty chair, no warning

Someone booked Saturday at eleven. At five past, it is clear they are not coming, and it is too late to give the hour to anyone else.

What Slotty takes off your hands

  • One hand on the clippers, one sentence out loud

Tap the mic with your free hand and say “Mark, Saturday, eleven, haircut and beard.” A glance and a tap to confirm, and the booking is in your day before the client in the chair is done.

  • The usual, written down

The guard number, the shape at the back, which way they part it, where the cowlick sits — on the client’s card, so “the usual” means the same thing every time.

  • Gaps you can see

Today and this week, with the free windows between cuts. When someone asks “anything this afternoon?”, the answer is already on the screen.

  • A reminder the day before

Clients get a message the day before and confirm with one tap. Anyone who cannot make it cancels on their own, and that hour is free again.

  • Takings by month, quarter and year

Last month’s takings, or this quarter’s so far: every cut and payment in one table, with a file ready for your accountant.

One sentence, and what it becomes

“Mark on Saturday at eleven, haircut and beard. And a note for him: a number two on the sides, scissors on top, square neckline.”

  • Booking: Mark, Saturday 11 am, haircut and beard
  • Note on Mark: a two on the sides, scissors on top, square neckline
  • Reminder to Mark on Friday, to confirm with one tap

Questions and answers

What does Slotty cost a barber?

Nothing to start, and no card. You pay only once your chair is busy enough to make it worth it.

Do my clients need to download anything?

No. The reminder comes as a message, and one tap confirms it. A regular who wants to see their next booking can join with the code you send them.

I rent a chair in someone else’s shop. Does Slotty fit?

Yes, as long as the clients are yours. Slotty keeps one person’s book. A shop where several barbers share one schedule is not what Slotty is for.

Can clients book themselves?

No. You make every booking, by voice or in text, and the client gets a message to confirm it. If their plans change, they can cancel on their own.

How do the reminders work?

The day before, the client gets a message with the time. One tap confirms it. If they cannot come, they cancel, and you see the free hour in time to offer it to someone else.

Where do I write down how each regular has it cut?

On the client’s card. The guard number, the shape, the product they style with — write it once, and it is there the next time they sit down.

Keep your hands on the clippers. Slotty keeps the book.
